HOW IT WORKS
1. Apply & Verify
Uphold is a private, vetted community. Every caregiver completes a brief application and identity verification before joining.
This is intentional. When you share something this personal, you deserve to know that the person you are talking to has earned their place in our trusted community of caregivers who are living this experience alongside you.
2. Reflect & Share
Once accepted, you begin a guided journey designed to help you reflect on your experience and the questions shaping it. Many caregivers find clarity simply in being asked the right questions. The process draws out the perspective you have already been building through lived experience.
From there, we thoughtfully connect you with another caregiver whose journey overlaps with yours in ways that support mutual understanding and meaningful exchange.
3. Matched for Mutual Exchange
We match you one-to-one with another caregiver whose journey meaningfully overlaps with yours. Each connection is a private, virtual conversation between two parents.
This is not mentorship and not a group forum. It is a reciprocal exchange grounded in lived experience.
Wherever you are in your journey, the questions you are asking and the moments you are navigating already carry insight.
Each match creates space to show up as you are and move forward with greater clarity and conviction.
4. A Conversation That Stays With You
Once matched, Uphold coordinates and schedules a private video conversation at a time that works for both caregivers.
There is no required agenda and no expectation that you arrive with answers. Most conversations begin simply, sharing where you are and listening to the other parent.
What often surprises caregivers is how quickly the conversation feels familiar. You recognize parts of your own experience in another family’s story. You hear reflections that resonate and gain perspective that clarifies what lies ahead.

5. Insight That Builds Over Time

With permission, themes drawn from individual conversations are captured in aggregated, anonymized form and shared with the broader community. Personal stories and identifying details remain private.
